Visiting this website
When you visit this website, technical connection and access data is processed to deliver the requested content and ensure secure operation. This includes your IP address, the time and duration of the connection, the address requested, the amount of data transferred and the status of the request. The web server also logs the browser information supplied by your browser and any referring page transmitted.
The website is hosted on self-managed servers. A server at OVHcloud in Germany provides public access. The infrastructure provider processes connection data that is technically necessary for this purpose. The page content itself is delivered over an encrypted connection.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the reliable provision, troubleshooting and security of this website. Technical connection data is necessary to access the content. You are under no obligation to make further contact.
Retention of technical logs
Web server access and error logs are checked daily for rotation; up to 14 archived log versions are retained. The connection logs of the upstream access server are also checked daily for rotation; up to seven archived versions are retained there. Empty files are not rotated, so periods without access may extend the time before older versions are removed.
Connection events may also be stored in the system journal, which has a storage limit. Older entries are removed when that limit is reached; no fixed maximum retention period is currently configured. Logs are used to check operation and security, not to create visitor profiles.
Contact by email or phone
If you make contact, I process the contact details and information you provide to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, prepare for working together. Enquiries related to a contract are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries are processed on the basis of the legitimate interest in answering them under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The data is deleted once the enquiry is concluded and it is no longer needed. If we subsequently work together, or if statutory retention duties apply, the relevant retention periods apply. Please do not send particularly confidential information by unencrypted email.
Cookies, external content and analytics
This website does not set cookies. If you manually select a language, only that choice (German or English) is saved in local browser storage, provided your browser allows it. You can change the choice at any time using the language switch or remove it by clearing the website’s data in your browser. On a neutral entry, your preferred browser languages are checked if no choice has been saved; these preferences are not stored separately. The website does not embed analytics, advertising or booking services and has no contact forms. Fonts and graphics are loaded from the website’s own server. Email and phone links open the relevant application on your device. No automated decisions about visitors are made on this website.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent with effect for the future.
Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. You can exercise your rights using the contact details above.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, your workplace or the suspected infringement.
